Your Design Business – Raise It to the Next Level

After I teach classes or
presentations, I am often approached by the attendees who want to meet me and
make the most out of a 3 minute one-on-one discussion.  Frequently I am
asked the question "What
is the one thing that I suggest that they do to raise their business to the
next level?"

The question used to take me by surprise.  One thing?  Just one?  There are a ton of things you can do to raise your business to the next level – just pick one and do it!

But that is not what they are looking for.  My attendees what an "expert suggestion" on something that just might work for them.  So here it is. 

So here is the one
thing – if you are just starting out – that I suggest you to do to raise your
business to the next level. Join a professional group.

Lots to pick from, do your research, see
if there is a fit – and join. I suggest a group that has local meetings – a
design business needs local support – and you will find it there. 

Try the
Interior Design Society IDS , The Window Coverings Association of America WCAA, The Society for Design Professionals SDP, or
something like the Chamber of Commerce if you can’t find design specific. You
will be so grateful for the wealth of information that you find.

So for those of you in
different stages of
your business – no matter where you are in business – I challenge you with this
question. What Is the ONE Thing YOU CAN Do to Raise Your Business to the
Next Level? What CAN you do? I would love to know! And then – I challenge
you – to do it! Do that one thing! Do it for 30 days and see where it takes
you!
