What a Frustrating Week!

So, it's been one of THOSE weeks.

I spent a couple of days last week really cleaning out and purging my office – it was a GREAT spring clean!  The last time I did it was early November, so the timing seemed right, and I made tremendous progress.

So I was SO looking forward to diving into work on Monday – everything organized and in its place, which is a great way to free up the mind for some creativity.

And then it happened.  Apparently I freed up a lot more than creativity, because from that moment on every little – and I do mean little -thing that could bug you was happening to me.

First, I stopped by a new vendor without my business license, so no new account. Later, I picked up my favorite salad for lunch and it was horrible – like I don’t know HOW you could make a salad so bad.

Then I got an email from my mastermind program signup that said the system never switched over so everyone who was signing up was getting the early bird special price.

So that was great for the new clients, but a little disappointing for those who signed up early to get the better price.  And when I contacted my web people – usually SO receptive, I got nothing.  Nothing.  No email return, no voicemail return… and might I add their voicemail system now says “we will get back to you in 24 or 48 hours.”  What????!!! 48 hours??!  A business could virtually get shut down in that time frame.

And STILL no answer.

So – to get through this week, these are the things I am TRYING to do.  See if any of them work for you.

1.  Count to 10. Yep. Seriously.  Just stop, slow down, breathe, and count to 10.  Cause your reaction just might make a little frustration a BIG frustration.

2.  Vent.  Scream, curse, yell – or at the very least, call some one up and complain all about it.  Then let it go, and move on.

3.  Consider the Other Side.  Okay, this one is REALLY tough for me, but it is almost ALWAYS true.  Whenever I am SURE someone is not responding to me (i.e. my computer company) I TRY to think about what THEY might be going through.  Maybe today was a bad day.  Maybe they are swamped.  Maybe they just had 3 people quit.  I STILL don’t like their new voicemail, but maybe I can calm down a bit until I hear their story.

So they are simple little things – but I can tell you already, just by “venting” to you, I feel a heck of a lot better – maybe the REST of my week will be better too!

Have a good one!
