So things are humming along at a crazy pace here at Mary Larsen Designs and GrowYourDesignBiz.com. The best thing about it is that I am totally in the groove, so things are really happening. I'm crazy productive, still taking full weekends off, not working too late into the night – and best of all – I haven't hit complete overwhelm!!
So I know I have been talking about it a lot lately, but keeping focused is the key to this complete productive mode I am in! I think I just shared this the other week, but it has been so incredibly effective I have to share it again.
There is just one question you have to ask yourself before you begin ANY task.
What is doing this task going to get me???!!
That’s it! Just that one simple question. Answering that question will help you decide what tasks you should do first, and better yet, it will show you some tasks that don’t even need to be done at all! Cause if they are not going to get you what you want – you won’t do them!
Here’s a great story on this exact topic from Janet Elliott of Sew Dynamic Designs in Youngsville, N.C.
“I had an opportunity to put into action some advice you gave in a previous newsletter. I had too many places to be, things to do, etc this past weekend. I really wanted to go to High Point to Showtime but I needed to finish building my workroom table as well as work on other things that related to getting my business going. I agonized for some time about what to do and then it became crystal clear because of something you said.
Make my decisions based on which choice will most help me reach my business goal? Bingo!
I stayed home and worked on that table and felt good about my decision. I can go to Showtime later.
So…. I just wanted to say “Thank you” for some wonderful advice. Janet”
I can’t say it too often – FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS!
Let me know how it works out for you in the next couple of days!
Have great rest of the week!
-Mary

Interior design can actually be quite difficult because it all depends on personal preferences. The trends in commercial and residential interior design change on a regular basis, however what goes out of fashion will normally come back into fashion in around 50 years. Lots of people like nostalgia, which is why things typically come back into fashion. Interior Decorators Designer http://interior-decorating-trends.blogspot.com
