The long days of summer have just begun here, and I try really hard to make every weekend feel like a little vacation. One way I do this is by being very strict that weekends are "work free".
We all know how easy it is to do a little work here and a little work there – well, I love the way my mind frees up when I completely stop work for a couple of days and have to fill my mind and time with other things like long walks, strawberry picking, boating on the lake and reading good books – and most of these things are done with family and friends!
But BEFORE I jump into summer with both feet, it’s time to really review where my business stands. We are crazily close to being half way through the work year – are you half way to your goals for the year? This quick review will get you back on track and make your workweeks focused and productive so you can reach your goals AND enjoy your summer.
1. What did you want to happen in your business this year? Did you write any goals down? If so, pull ‘em out, dust ‘em off, and make sure the work you are doing is getting you closer to those goals! If you didn’t make any goals, no worries. Make some decisions today about what you want to happen by the end of the year and jot those things down.
2. Who has your best customer been this year? Are you still working with them? If so, are you giving them all of the attention they deserve? If not, have you followed up with them recently? Very often your BEST client can lead you to another best client – make sure you are taking care of your bests!
3. What product or service has consistently made you the most money this year? Do you know what it is? If you don’t, find out. And now decide what you can do to make that product sale over and over again.
4. Is your money making on track? Are you making your monthly goals? Are you making the most out of every sale, by suggesting things your clients may want but don’t realize you offer? Now is the time to draw a hard line in the sand and really work towards making the income you deserve!
5. Pat yourself on the back for the great work you have done so far! Be proud of your accomplishments, big and small, and give yourself the permission to take a mini-vacation this weekend!
Have great rest of the week!
